The North Star in the K2 Snowboarding snowboard offering, and the marquee of the Landscape Collection, the Alchemist is a hard-charging, directional freeride board for a skilled rider. Targeted to please the advanced to expert level snowboarder, the Alchemist is packed with functional technology. This snowboard features two unique technologies from the K2 camp; the SpaceGlass™ tip insert and the patented Spectral Braid. SpaceGlass™ is a pre-cured fiberglass insert that helps reduce weight, reduce chatter, and increase edge pressure. Spectral Braid is a technology that allows us to adjust tip-to-tail stiffness independently from the torsional stiffness. This lets us make a torsionally stiffer snowboard in the tip and tail to promote edge hold while keeping it more relaxed between the feet to allow for easy turn initiation.

Rider Type:  Freeride

Shape: Directional

Flex: Very Stiff

Rocker: Rocker Nose /  Camber Under Feet

Ability Level:  Advanced / Expert

FEATURES:

Rocker Type

Directional Camber Profile – Camber between the feet and a slight rocker in the tip gives you all of the power and energy of a cambered snowboard, but with a little extra float on those deep days.

Tweakened™ – Rocker is extended all the way out to the absolute ends of the board, unlocking new ride-able surface area for a bigger, more stable platform to press, float, and land on

Flex

Flex Rating – 9 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)

Core

Bambooyah™ Pro Core – Equal parts performance, renewable, and durable, K2 has blended three different species of wood to create the most premium core in their offering. Bamboo and aspen are placed at 30° underfoot to supercharge the edge to edge response and increase the pressure distribution along the edge, lightweight paulownia is placed in the tip and tail to help reduce swing weight, and complementary tip to tail bamboo stringers help with snap, stability, and damping.

Laminates

Spectral Braid™ – Spectral Braid is a first of its kind variable angle reinforcement (Patent Pending) that allows for precision tuned torsion and flex by altering the fiber orientation along the length of the snowboards. Lively, energetic, and remarkably composed; snowboards with K2’s Spectral Braid have stability and control in spades while remaining hyper-maneuverable.

Triaxial Glass – A glass laminate with diagonal layers that adds torsional stiffness for increased stability and improved edge hold. The fibers three layers of fibers are woven at 45°, 45°, and 0°. This makes for a more responsive ride longitudinally and torsionally.

Carbon Power Fork™ – Equal parts snap and energy transfer, the ultra-lightweight Carbon Power Fork™ additives are dynamically flexing to optimize the performance in a snowboard. Carbon Power Fork™ additives are strategically shaped to offer greater response and energy return by increasing the width toward the tail – allowing for more material to be engaged, and more energy to be created the harder the tail is flexed.

SpaceGlass™ – An American-made Aerospace grade procure fiberglass core insert used to provide unmatched structural performance at reduced weight. SpaceGlass™ inserts increase edge hold along contact points, reduce chatter, and provide unequaled durability.

Base

Carbon Infused 5500 Sintered Base – Fast, light, and strong. Carbon Infused 5500 Sintered base is the cream of the crop. Adding carbon to a sintered base increases wax retention and decreases drag for a faster, smoother ride.
